For years, the National Christian Foundation (NCF) has been thought of by many people as the organization that helps with the "how" of giving: how to make the biggest possible impact for their favorite causes through tax-effective solutions and strategies.
Meanwhile, the Orlando-based ministry Generous Giving is often associated with the "why" of giving – thanks to their stories, teachings, and small- and large-group gatherings designed to inspire and celebrate generosity.
But what if our two organizations could leverage the how and the why to create the ... wow?
That's just what we've done.
A new strategic partnership
Though we've collaborated for many years on various projects and initiatives, we're now launching a new strategic partnership together to advance the message of biblical generosity in local communities across the country. Together, we're aligning our leadership, resources, and creativity around Generous Giving’s Generous City Initiative to transform local givers and their communities in ways we’ve never witnessed before.
The Generous City Initiative model provides an avenue for equipping volunteer “champions” to lead their local generosity movement and participate in hands-on ministry to reach and inspire their communities. The NCF team in local markets will come alongside city leaders to help plan, customize, and implement initiatives unique to each city and measure outcomes.
The first wave of “generous cities” is already underway for 2018 in Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, and Orlando – with the intent to reach many more cities over the next several years. In 2019, for example, local teams are now being formed in Indianapolis, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Austin.
Together ... NCF and Generous Giving hope these generous cities will shine like lights on a hill for the transforming power of biblical generosity and serve as models of local community collaboration and impact for God and His Kingdom.
Stay tuned to our blog in 2018 as this exciting partnership unfolds!
